A l'occasion de la commémoration du centenaire de la Première Guerre Mondiale, l'Alliance Française vous propose une soirée spéciale autour de plusieurs animations : la projection du documentaire "Apocalypse : La Premiere Guerre Mondiale" suivie d'un débat animé par Michel Huenefeld qui sera précédée du vernissage de l'exposition de Marcel Emery.
Nous reviendrons ensemble sur les événements de la Grande Guerre avec la projection de la première partie de la série documentaire "Apocalypse, la Première Guerre Mondiale" réalisée par Isabelle Clarke et Daniel Costelle, et narrée par Mathieu Kassovitz. Cette série regroupe des documents d'époque connus ou inédits et relate les grands événements de la guerre, basés sur des images d'archives restaurées et colorisées. La première partie nous permettra de revenir plus specifiquement sur les événements ayant mené à la guerre et sur les premières batailles de 1914-1915. La soirée s'achèvera ensuite par un débat animé par Michel Huenefeld.

A cette occasion, l'Alliance Française est également fière de vous présenter une exposition inédite des oeuvres de Marcel Emery à titre-posthume. Marcel Emery était un ancien combattant, engagé dans l'armée en 1937 puis résistant pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale avant de continuer sa carrière militaire en Indochine, Nouvelle Zélande, Australie pour enfin s'installer en Colombie Britannique dans la dernière partie de sa vie. Toutefois, Marcel Emery ne se distingue pas uniquement par ses nombreuses médailles honorifiques mais aussi par son talent de peintre qui a engendré une production prolifique de tableaux tout au long de sa vie. Cette exposition rassemble une petite partie de l'oeuvre d'une existence entière d'une personnalitée hors du commun.
On the occasion of the centennial of the First World War, Alliance Française is offering you a special evening with severals animations : the projection of the documentary " Apocalypse: The First World War" following by a debate hosted by Michel Huenefeld which will be preceded by the opening of Marcel Emery,s exhibition
We will look back on the events of the Great War with the projection of the first part of the documentary show " Apocalypse: The First World War" directed by Isabelle Clark and Daniel Costelle and narrated by Mathieu Kassovitz. The documentary is composed exclusively of actual footage of the war as filmed by war correspondents, soldiers, resistance fighters and private citizens. The series is shown in color, with the black-and-white footage being fully colorized. The first part will allow us to focus more specifically on the triggers of the war and the first battles of 1914-1915. The evening will end by a debate hosted by Michel Huenefeld.

On this occasion, Alliance Française is also proud to present you an unprecedented exhibition of the posthumously works of Marcel Emery. Marcel Emery was veteran, enrolled in French Army in 1937 then resistant during the Second World War before continuing his carreer in Indo-China, New-Zealand, Australia and eventually British-Columbia during the last part of his life. However, Marcel Emery doesn't only distinguish himself because of his numerous honorary medals but also thanks to his talent as a painter which spawned a prolifc production of artworks throughout his life. This exhibition gathers a small part of an entire existence's work by an extraordinary man.
