Wednesday, June 24 - 5pm-10pm
Gastown, Vancouver
Are you sick to death of “Uptown Funk” and wanna delve into a little Gastown funk instead? The fifth annual Make Music Vancouver Festival is back in town this June and it might just be the musical relief you’ve been looking for.
Started in Paris in 1982, Make Music is an international event for amateur musicians and their fans, with more than 100 countries participating worldwide. The festival made its way to Vancouver in 2011 and turned Water Street into a gigantic hipster dance floor, with 20,000 attendees jamming to the sounds of Vancouver’s best undiscovered talent.
You can expect more of the same on Wednesday, June 24 from 5 to 10 p.m. when Make Music takes over Gastown for the night. As always, the festival is entirely free with organizers, volunteers and musicians donating their time and talent.
It is estimated that 100 musicians of all musical genres will play live in the streets.
