Free books offered by The Azrieli Foundation are already available to pick up at the reception of Alliance Française (French version only).
The Foundation Azrieli, in collaboration with the Vancouver Holocaust Education Center and The Alliance Française, have the honour to present an evening of remembrance with a survivor from the Holocaust.
JUDY ABRAMS, an inspiring writer and Holocaust survivor, will spend some time telling her incredible story and a bits of her book "Tenuous Threads".
Judy is born in Budapest, Hungary on April 28, 1937, two years before World War II began. Her childhood was irrevocably marked by the Holocaust and her memoir is an evocative account of this fragmented and fearful period in her young live.
She immigrated to Montreal in 1949, where she later to taught French. She taught at the United Nations International School in New York City from 1972 until her retirement in 2002. She has two sons and one grandson and divides her time between Montreal and New York.
Her memoir provides a raw and interested look into the victim of Holocaust.
A book-signing session will take place just after the talk.
Free books will be offered by The Azrieli Foundation.

JUDY ABRAMS raconte son histoire poignante dans son livre intitulé "Retenue par un fil".
Judy est née à Budapest, en Hongrie, le 28 avril 1937, soit deux ans avant le début de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Son enfance a été indéniablement marquée par l'Holocauste et ses mémoires évoquent de manière expressive et personnelle ce parcours unique de cette enfant qui a survécu là où tant d’autres ont péri.
Elle a immigré à Montréal en 1949, puis elle a enseigné le français à l’École internationale des Nations unies à New York. Elle et son mari partagent leur temps entre Montréal et New York avant de prendre sa retraite en 2002. Elle partage désormais son temps avec ses deux enfants et son petit-fils entre Montréal et New-York.
