Visions Ouest Productions (VOP) présente, du 26 février au 7 mars 2025, Les 31^e Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois et francophone (RVCQF2025), une programmation composée de films provenant principalement du Québec et de la France, ainsi que de la Francophonie internationale. Les films sont sous-titrés en anglais. VOP travaille en collaboration avec l'Alliance Française Vancouver pour son volet CINÉMA à Vancouver dans la nouvelle salle du 6161 Cambie. Le Festival 2025 aura lieu dans deux principales salles en février et mars (SFU Woodward's et l'Alliance Française Vancouver) et se poursuivra avec la programmation du Printemps de la Francophonie du SFU-BAFF. Le dimanche 2 mars, la projection de MAURICE a lieu de 16h à 17h30, puis, le vernissage de l’exposition BRODEUR sera à 17h30.

From February 26 to March 7, 2025, Visions Ouest Productions (VOP) presents Les 31e Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois et francophone (RVCQF2025), a program of films mainly from Quebec and France, as well as from the international Francophonie. Films are subtitled in English. VOP is working in collaboration with Alliance Française Vancouver for its CINEMA program in Vancouver, in the new theatre at 6161 Cambie. Festival 2025 will take place in two main theatres in February and March (SFU Woodward's and  Alliance Française Vancouver) and will continue with SFU-BAFF's Printemps de la Francophonie programming. Sunday March 2nd, the screening of MAURICE takes place from 4pm to 5:30pm, followed by the opening of the BRODEUR exhibition at 5:30pm.

Synopsis

Le film documentaire MAURICE révèle le célèbre #9 des Canadiens de Montréal comme jamais auparavant. À travers des images d’archives inédites tournées sur 35 ans, ce documentaire offre un accès exclusif à l’homme derrière le mythe du Rocket. Conçu par Serge Giguère et Robert Tremblay, décédé avant d’achever ce projet, MAURICE dresse un portrait intime et authentique de Maurice Richard, bien au-delà de ses exploits sur la patinoire. Plus qu’un joueur de hockey, il incarne la persévérance et l’espoir d’un peuple, marquant à jamais la culture québécoise.

The documentary film MAURICE reveals the legendary #9 of the Montreal Canadiens like never before. Through never-before-seen archival footage filmed over 35 years, this documentary offers exclusive access to the man behind the myth of The Rocket.
