En partant du constat de sa propre histoire familiale, de ses déviances, appropriations et autres indigestions coloniales, l’attention de la performeuse et historienne de l’art Hortense Belhôte se penche sur 1789 et la période révolutionnaire avec une question simple : quels récits y puiser pour nourrir les veillées de nos futurs enfants ? Comme on pourrait feuilleter un album de famille, une galerie d’anti-héros voit le jour. Tous ont en commun de ne pas répondre aux critères d’entrée au Panthéon, car trop monstrueux, trop ratés ou trop queer. C’est à ces “vrais français” qu’Hortense Belhôte rend hommage dans une conférence spectaculaire qui bouscule avec impertinence et beaucoup humour les sédiments de notre socle commun.

Starting from the observation of her own family history, its deviations, appropriations and other colonial indigestions, the attention of the performer and art historian Hortense Belhôte focuses on 1789 and the revolutionary period with a simple question: What stories can we draw from it to nurture the evenings of our future children? As one could leaf through a family album, a gallery of anti-heroes is born. All of them have in common that they do not meet the criteria for entry into the Pantheon, because they are too monstrous, too failed or too queer. It is to these "true French" that Hortense Belhôte pays tribute in a spectacular conference which shakes up with impertinence and a lot of humor the sediments of our common base.
