une œuvre chorégraphique pour adolescents et adultes mettant en scène un
quintet de danseurs sur un immense
tapis roulant.
Dans cet espace à la fois contraignant et stimulant, les corps se déploient dans une danse physique, acrobatique et engagée. À travers
leurs mouvements, les interprètes explorent des thèmes tels que
l’identité, la liberté, le vivre-ensemble et le
dépassement de soi.
Tantôt en contrôle, tantôt soumis à la machine,
ils cherchent leur place dans un monde en perpétuel
mouvement. Le tapis devient alors une
métaphore du passage vers l’âge adulte et du chemin
que chacun doit apprendre à parcourir.
ON / OFF is a choreographic work for teenagers and adults featuring five dancers on a huge treadmill. In this space that is both challenging and stimulating, the bodies unfold in a physical, acrobatic and engaged dance. Through their movements, the performers explore themes such as identity, freedom, living together and self-transcendence. Sometimes in control, sometimes subjected to the machine, they seek their place in a world in perpetual movement. The carpet then becomes a metaphor for the passage to adulthood and the path that everyone must learn to walk.

Grand Poney est une bête insaisissable, fantaisiste et digne. Fondée à Montréal en août 2009 sous la vision de Jacques Poulin-Denis, la compagnie interdisciplinaire développe une écriture scénique hybride et collaborative. Elle s’appuie sur l’abstraction chorégraphique, la composition musicale et la dramaturgie théâtrale. Elle puise la trame narrative de ses oeuvres dans les multiples facettes de l’existence humaine, nos états physiques et psychiques, nos pulsions et nos principes, notre rapport au monde et à nous-même. Grand Poney réalise des récits atypiques qui joignent l’imaginaire à l’évident.
Grand Poney is an elusive, whimsical beast and dignified. Founded in Montreal in August 2009 under the vision of Jacques Poulin-Denis, the
company interdisciplinary develops a scenic writing hybrid and collaborative. It relies on abstraction choreographic, musical composition
and the theatrical dramaturgy. It draws on the narrative framework of his works in the multiple facets of human existence, our physical
states and psychic, our impulses and our principles, our relationship to the world and to ourselves. Big Pony creates atypical stories that
connect the imagination at the obvious.
