_
Alliance Française Vancouver and Institut français Canada, in partnership with Comité FrancoQueer de l'Ouest, are pleased to
welcome French multi-talented artist Ouissem Belgacem for an evening of discussion and conversation.
During this event, you will have the opportunity to attend the screening of the first episode of the documentary series, Adieu ma honte. This series, adapted from the book of the same name, is a poignant autobiographical account of Ouissem Belgacem, a child from the suburbs who was destined for a career as a professional soccer player at the highest level, before his homosexuality, contrary to his religion and his sport, precipitated his downfall.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the athlete and writer. It will be moderated by Loïc Million, lecturer and doctoral
candidate in interdisciplinary studies at Simon Fraser University.
