Bill Evans a profondément révolutionné l’approche du
trio et du piano jazz. Interprète subtil et compositeur inspiré, il a su incorporer dans son discours une certaine couleur harmonique
provenant des impressionnistes français: Fauré, Debussy et Ravel. C’est avec émotion que le Trio Lorraine Desmarais recrée
maintenant sur scène ses pièces «coups de coeur» de Bill Evans. Conversation intime où créativité, virtuosité, musicalité et élégance sont
à l’honneur. Avec Camil Bélisle à la batterie, Alec Walkington à la contrebasse et Lorraine

Bill Evans profoundly revolutionized jazz piano and the trio formation. A subtle performer and inspired composer, Evans integrated the harmonic colors of French impressionists Debussy, Fauré and Ravel into his playing. The musicians of Trio Lorraine Desmarais are thrilled to recreate their favorite Bill Evans pieces on stage. Creativity, virtuosity, musicality and sophistication come together in this intimate conversation between Camil Bélisle on drums, Alec Walkington on double bass and Lorraine Desmarais on the piano.

Lorraine Desmarais est une pianiste et compositrice de jazz montréalaise reconnue comme l'une des grandes figures du jazz canadien. Formée en piano classique, elle s'est imposée grâce à son jeu virtuose, son sens de l'improvisation et ses nombreuses compositions originales. Son répertoire mêle jazz contemporain, influences classiques et créations pour trio, big band et orchestre. Lauréate d'un Félix de l'ADISQ en 1985 et gagnante du Great American Jazz Piano Competition en 1986, elle a également reçu le Prix Oscar Peterson en 2002. Membre de l'Ordre du Canada depuis 2012, elle poursuit une carrière internationale tout en contribuant activement à l'enseignement du jazz au Québec.
Lorraine Desmarais is a Montreal-based pianist and jazz composer recognized as one of the great figures of Canadian jazz. Trained in classical piano, she has established herself thanks to her virtuoso playing, her sense of improvisation and her many original compositions. His repertoire combines contemporary jazz, classical influences and creations for trio, big band and orchestra. Winner of a Félix from ADISQ in 1985 and winner of the Great American Jazz Piano Competition in 1986, she also received the Oscar Peterson Award in 2002. Member of the Order of Canada since 2012, she pursues an international career while actively contributing to jazz education in Quebec.
