L’ascension des 14 sommets de l’Himalaya représente un incroyable défi. La Franco-Suisse Sophie Lavaud, 54 ans, est la première alpiniste française tous sexes confondus à avoir accompli cet exploit que peu d’autres ont relevé. Nombreux sont ceux qui l’ont tenté et payé de leur vie. En juin 2023, le réalisateur François Damilano, lui-même alpiniste, l’a suivie pas à pas dans l’impressionnante ascension du dernier sommet, le Nanga Parbat, au Pakistan.

Climbing the 14 peaks of the Himalayas is an incredible challenge. Sophie Lavaud, a 54-year-old Franco-Swiss woman, is the first French mountaineer—regardless of gender—to have accomplished this feat, which few others have managed. Many have attempted it and paid with their lives. In June 2023, filmmaker François Damilano, himself a mountaineer, followed her step by step on the impressive ascent of the final peak, Nanga Parbat, in Pakistan.
