Theatrical Storytelling for Kids in French

The Alliance Française Vancouver, in its desire to provide access to creative, cultural and educational activities in French or translated in French to Francophones and Francophiles in Vancouver, in particular youth, families and seniors, is launching the project “Il était une Fois Vancouver/Once upon a time Vancouver”

The project

Il était une fois Vancouver is a project of theatrical Storytelling that is presented free of charge, once-a-month, to kids and families in Vancouver, British Columbia and elsewhere, from January to December 2022

Each Storytelling time, lasting between 15 and 30 minutes, is led by an artist or a duo of artists using any medium they wish - puppets, mime, music, objects, digital tools, etc. - around a theme celebrating the cultural diversity of Vancouver. Each project will be an original creation or an adaptation based on themes, literary works, tales or legends specific to British Columbia's minority communities. The Storytelling time is presented to a small audience, in an intimate setting.

These monthly meetings are an opportunity to honor celebrations such as National Indigenous Peoples Month, Black History Month, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Pride Month, etc.
