The Book

[EN] Book summary : A man is seized from his afternoon drink at the Cafe Sport by two agents of the Regime-though what exactly he is suspected of we do not know, and neither, apparently, does he. Part thriller and part political satire, "The Flaw" is as powerful today as it was when first published in 1965, foretelling the military dictatorship that would take hold of Greece only two years later.

[FR] Résumé du livre : Un homme est saisi par deux agents du Régime alors qu'il prenait son verre au Café Sport, sans que l'on sache exactement de quoi il est soupçonné. Nous ne le savons pas et lui non plus, apparemment. A la fois thriller et satire politique, "La Faille" est un livre aussi puissant aujourd'hui que lorsqu'il a été publié pour la première fois en 1965, annonçant la dictature militaire qui allait s'emparer de la Grèce seulement deux ans plus tard.

[EN] Antonis Samarakis (1919-2003) was a Greek writer of the post-war generation. He began his career in the 1930s, but it was his world-famous book "La Faille" that made him famous.
