Atelier d’estampe: le monotype avec Sara-Jeanne Bourget

Rejoignez-nous pour une activité de création en famille, dans un atelier guidé par l’artiste Sara-Jeanne Bourget. Les enfants et leurs familles sont invité(e)s à découvrir des techniques simples d’estampe, comme le monotype avec l’appui de l’artiste. Une presse à imprimer sera disponible, et utilisée pour créer des images surprenantes à l’aide de matériel d’art spécifiques à l’estampe. Les thèmes seront inspirés de l'exposition Hors-Saison, actuellement presentée dans la Galerie. Le matériel d'art sera fourni. Les enfants doivent etre accompagné(e)s d'un adulte. Merci de prendre 1 billet par personne.

Printmaking workshop: The monotype with Sara-Jeanne Bourget

Join us for a friendly family activity in a workshop led by Sara-Jeanne Bourget. Kids and their family are invited to discover printmaking simple techniques, such as the monotype/monoprint with the assistance of the artist. A printing press will be used to create fun and surprising images, using tools and mediums specific to the discipline of printmaking. The themes will be inspired by the exhibition on view now in the Gallery. All materials are provided. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Please RSVP 1 ticket per person.

L'artiste | The artist

Sara-Jeanne Bourget

Sara-Jeanne Bourget est une artiste Québécoise, établie à Vancouver, BC, sur les terres traditionnelles non-cédées des nations xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh). Elle est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en beaux-arts (BFA) en arts plastiques de l’Université Concordia (2015) et d’une maîtrise en beaux-arts (MFA) de l’Université Emily Carr of Art + Design (2019). Elle est actuellement professeure adjointe en dessin à l’Université Emily Carr. Sara-Jeanne Bourget a exposé ses œuvres et participé à des programmes de résidence en Europe, à travers le Canada et aux États-Unis. Elle a reçu à deux reprises des bourses de la Fondation Elizabeth Greenshields en soutien à son travail et à la poursuite de ses études. En 2020, elle a cofondé Patio Press, un projet de recherche expérimental en gravure avec Mark Johnsen, récemment financé par le CRSH (Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada)..

Sara-Jeanne Bourget is a visual artist from Quebec, living and working in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She holds a BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University (2015) and an MFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2019). She is currently an Assistant professor in Drawing at Emily Carr University. She has exhibited her work and participated in residency programs in Europe, across Canada and The United States. She has twice received grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in support of her work and pursuit of her studies. In 2020, she co-founded Patio Press, an experimental printmaking research project with Mark Johnsen, which has recently been funded by SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council).
