Led by globetrotting JUNO-nominated marimbist and percussionist Robin Layne, this groove heavy ensemble delivers music that transcends
traditions in a cultural fusion of sounds and rhythms that highlight the marimba. Riding the recent release of their sophomore album
"Pacifico", the Rhythm Makers have been touring across Canada and USA bringing their vibrant sound to festivals and venues across
the Pacific Northwest.
Robin decided to combine his love for education, rhythm and performance after his son was born in 2020. He created a highly engaging and
interactive show called Journey into Rhythm. This show is designed for young audiences and has toured across the province. In this
interactive and high-energy performance, kids get to join the band and learn how to keep a beat on percussion and marimbas. It showcases the
vast world of percussion, and how rhythm connect us all, as it follows Robin on his travels to Cuba, West Africa, Mexico and Colombia
