Tyson comes from one of the oldest French-Canadian families in Canada: the Villeneuve-d'Amyot family, established in 1654. He grew up
speaking and learning French and attended a fully French-language elementary school. His teachers were from France, Quebec, and other
French-speaking countries.
In 1998, during the FIFA World Cup, he moved to Paris and fell even more in love with France and French culture. It then became important
for him not only to continue nurturing his love for the French language and culture at home, but also to promote it wherever possible.
In 2011, he wrote a letter in French to the founders of Dîner en Blanc International in order to bring the global event to Vancouver. He
then successfully managed the event for ten editions before stepping down in 2023. He also co-founded the event in Victoria with Brink
Events, as well as editions in Calgary and Edmonton.
Through all these events, he supported the Alliance Française, and it was during a collaboration in Calgary for Dîner en Blanc that he met
Damien.
He organizes international events, including a VIP experience for 100 guests within a gathering of 18,000 attendees in Paris for the 30th
anniversary, as well as private events over several years in various Parisian venues.
He also designed a project at the Château de Chantilly. Since moving to Victoria, he has organized and produced the annual Design Victoria
launch event. He has also organized events for the Consulate of France in Vancouver.
He organized the official inauguration of the new Alliance Française de Vancouver building in 2024. He also designed and produced the
Alliance Française’s 120th anniversary gala.
