Paul Pillion

Hello, my name is Paul. After studying history and social sciences at university, I naturally gravitated toward teaching French as a foreign language, a field I became aware of at an early age, thanks in particular to my mother's career as a French as a foreign language teacher. Before arriving in British Columbia, I conducted linguistic research on Ontario's Francophone community, focusing on linguistic insecurity related to the practice of a minority language in an English-speaking context. This experience reinforced my desire to value learners' linguistic journeys and create a supportive space where everyone can learn with confidence and enjoyment. Convinced that learning also involves play, exchange, and curiosity, I like to offer activities that encourage reflection, dialogue, and the desire to progress. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about video games and hiking, a love of nature that I developed during my stay on Reunion Island.
