François Vautier is a multidisciplinary artist. Following studies in plastic arts and audiovisual design, he led a long career as artistic director and set designer for various TV channels. While acquiring extensive experience as a director with numerous clips, commercials and experimental short films, Francois’s passion for images led him to pursue his research in audiovisual design and discover new filming processes in virtual studio.
His filmography, now rich of several long feature and immersive films, reveals a personal universe, where the limits of space and time are questioned through sensory immersions and innovative graphic forms. Francois’s work is based on two central subjects: the absolute, and the future of mankind. This can be seen in his recent films I Saw the Future and Recoding Entropia, presented at the Venice Film Festival, and selected in many major festivals.
