Collective Body is a shared, interactive virtual reality experience that invites us to meet ourselves and others through movement. In the heart of the New Mexico desert, we rediscover a way of engaging with the world through the formative stages of human life, before ending with a playful, collective exploration of our virtual bodies. These key moments (first alone in the face of the unknown, then the encounter with otherness, and finally the joy of moving together) reflect the way our personal and collective stories are written through movement. Designed for four or more participants, Collective Body encourages us to explore and discover our movement identity, the unique signature expressed in each of our gestures.
Collective Body was commissioned by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, with the support of the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image animée, the City of Paris, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the Institut Français and the Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains.
