Thresholds: stories of our inner selves is a live contemporary dance and extended reality performance, where the audience
participates in embodied narratives by dancing with both real and virtual actors, immersed in a multi-sensory experience. A performer
engages with the audience-participants on stage, facilitating moments of touch seen in the headset and encouraging them to get up and
dance. The experience reflects on common and widespread mental health challenges including addiction, anxiety, depression, obsession,
jealousy and paranoia. Through the movements of the virtual bodies of the characters, the stories question the recurring causes of these
states of consciousness and encourage dialogue and sharing through the body.
