Les Alliances Francaises du Canada vous invitent à découvrir « Nyna Valès, rencontres africaines »,
un dialogue musical acoustique et électronique entre chanson française et musiques traditionnelles sénégalaise et
camerounaise.
L'artiste Yann Savel signe les chansons françaises, portées par la voix de Nathalie Carudel, en
conversation avec les percussions et le chant en langue Bafia de Simon Nwambeben et de la kora de Zal
Sissokho.

The Alliances Francaises du Canada invite you to discover "Nyna Valès, rencontres africaines", an acoustic
and electronic musical dialogue between French songs and traditional music from Senegal and Cameroon. The French songs are sung by Yann Savel,
with Nathalie Carudel's voice in conversation with Simon Nwambeben's percussion and singing in Bafia and
Zal Sissokho's kora.
Originaire de Nantes, le duo Nyna Valès réunit Nathalie Carudel et Yann Savel depuis 2010. De la pop classieuse, au rock sophistiqué en passant par la chanson sensuelle, Nyna Valès participe au renouveau de la chanson française. Le duo s’associe régulièrement à d’autres artistes pour créer des projets musicaux originaux et interculturels.
Originally from Nantes, Nyna Valès duo has been bringing together Nathalie Carudel and Yann Savel since 2010. From classy pop to sophisticated rock and sensual chanson, Nyna Valès is part of the revival of French chanson. The duo regularly teams up with other artists to create original, cross-cultural projects.
Né à Bafia au Cameroun, Simon Nwambeben a parcouru le monde comme directeur musical de la compagnie Royal de Luxe. Irrigué par les rythmes Bantous et les traditions Bafias, il invente alors son propre style musical : le Bitibak.
Born in Bafia, Cameroon, Simon Nwambeben has travelled the world as musical director of the company Royal de Luxe. Inspired by Bantu rhythms and Bafia traditions, he invented his own musical style: Bitibak.
Zal Sissokho est un chanteur et auteur-compositeur sénégalo-canadien qui joue de la kora et chante des mélodies inspirées ou empruntées à la tradition ouest-africaine en malinké et en wolof. Après avoir déménagé à Montréal en 1999, il s'est rapidement établi dans le paysage sonore montréalais et a reçu des subventions du Conseil des Arts du Canada à plusieurs reprises depuis 2001.
Zal Sissokho is a Senegalese-Canadian singer and songwriter who plays the kora and sings melodies inspired by or borrowed from the West African tradition in Malinke and Wolof. After moving to Montreal in 1999, he quickly established himself on the Montreal soundscape and has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts on several occasions since 2001.
