A1.1 Part A - Discovery Prim'

Intensive course for Kids

Is your child a complete beginner? This level is for him/her.

In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Greet someone.
  • Count up to 10.
  • Give his/her age and ask for somebody's age.
  • Give his/her name and ask for somebody's name.
  • Identify and describe an object or a person (1).
  • Talk about likes and dislikes (1).

Prerequisite: no prior knowledge of French whatsoever.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 1, units 0, 1 and 2.

A1.1 Part B - Discovery Prim'

Intensive course for Kids

In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Talk about likes and dislikes (2).
  • Talk about transportation.
  • Express feelings (1)
  • Say where he/she lives.
  • Present his/her family.
  • Ask for and give an explanation.

Prerequisite: A1.1 Part A or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 1, units 3 and 4.

A1.1 Part C - Discovery Prim'

Intensive course for Kids

In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Identify body parts in French.
  • Express feelings (2).
  • Talk about the seasons and the weather.
  • Talk about activities, sports.
  • Describe a person, his/her clothes (2).
  • Give his/her birthdate.

Prerequisite: A1.1 Part B or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 1, units 5 and 6.

Intensive course for Kids

In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Review objectives from book 1.
  • Talk about everyday activities.
  • Talk about his/her school timetable.
  • Ask questions.
  • Identify a place, a store in a city.
  • Ask politely.
  • Count to 10,000.

Prerequisite: A1.1 Part C or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 2, units 0, 1 and 2.

A1.2 Part C - Discovery Prim'

One class a week for Kids

In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Tell a short story.
  • Describe someone’s personality.
  • Invite, accept and/or refuse an invitation.
  • Ask for and give instructions.
  • Talk about recipes.
  • Express preferences.

Prerequisite: A1.2 Part B or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 2, units 5 and 6.

A2.1 Intermediate Prim' (with Cap Sur)

Intensive course for Kids

Ideal for kids 9 to 11 years old
In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Review objectives from book 2.
  • Express his/her goals.
  • Ask for and give advices.
  • Express complex negations.
  • Present a person he/she admires.

Prerequisite: A1.2 Part C or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap sur 3, units 0 and 1.

A2.1 Part B - Intermediate Prim'

One class a week for Kids

Ideal for kids 9 to 11 years old
In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Compare persons and objects (1).
  • Identify and describe plants in French.
  • Talk about activities he/she will do in the future.
  • Talk about activities he/she will do in the past (1).
  • Express his/her opinion.
Prerequisite: A2.1 Part A or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 3, units 2 and 3.

A2.1 Part C - Intermediate Prim'

One class a week for Kids

Ideal for kids 9 to 11 years old
In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Understand biographies.
  • Talk about activities he/she did in the past (2).
  • Talk about food and diets.
  • Talk about what he/she knows how to do.
Prerequisite: A2.1 Part B or Placement test.
Textbooks: Cap Sur 3, units 4 and 5 (1).

A2.1 Part D - Intermediate Prim'

One class a week for Kids

Ideal for kids 9 to 11 years old
In this class, children will learn how to:

  • Tell past stories and memories (3).
  • Ask for what he/she needs.
  • Express possession.
  • Describe an object and talk about similarities.
Prerequisite: A2.1 Part C or Placement test.

A2.2 & B1.1 Independent Prim'

A2.2 & B1.1 Part A - Independent Prim'

Intensive course for Kids

Ideal for kids 8 to 11 years old.
Review and consolidate oral skills, grammar, and vocabulary for children with a level A2.2 and B1.1.
Perfect for kids in immersion classes or with a higher level who need to consolidate their writing skills, syntax, and conjugation.

Prerequisite: A2.1 Part D or Level assessment.
Textbooks: Handouts created and assembled by Alliance Française Vancouver + Grammar book (to be purchased).

Afternoon camps (6 to 9 years old), Monday to Friday, 12pm-2:30pm: available after the French class in the morning.
