The TEF (Test d'Evaluation du Français) is an assessment of proficiency in the French language, used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to assign points for the language factor when applying for citizenship.
The Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry issues a certificate, which is widely recognized by business firms and educational institutions.
Applicants may be required to take the compulsory tests (written comprehension, listening, vocabulary and structure) and the optional tests (written and oral expression). There is one session every two months.
A new specific TEF for access to French citizenship will also be available shorly.
